FAQs

What cameras can your drones carry?

That depends on the platform. The Inspire 3 handles a wide range of drama and television work, while our heavy-lift systems are designed to carry full cinema camera packages, including ARRI Alexa 35, Sony Venice, and RED builds.

Which system is right for the job?

That depends on the shot, the camera package, the schedule and the look required. Aerial Craft advises on the most suitable platform for the brief.

Do you handle permissions and planning?

Yes. Aerial Craft supports planning, permissions and operational compliance as part of the service.

How close can you operate to people?

That depends on the platform, location, and conditions. Our industry-leading OSC permissions, granted by the CAA, allow us to safely operate as close as 10 metres to people, vehicles, and structures not under our control. These enhanced permissions provide significantly more flexibility on set, allowing us to capture shots that are simply not possible under standard drone authorisations.

Can you film in difficult weather?

Weather is always assessed carefully. Wind, rain and visibility all affect what is possible on the day.

Yes, within reason. Wind and rain are the main factors, with rain affecting lens quality and higher winds influencing which aircraft we can safely operate.

We adapt accordingly. Smaller platforms like the Inspire 3 perform well in stronger winds, while heavy-lift systems are more weather-dependent. In most cases, conditions improve enough during the day to get airborne. Where needed, we adjust the shot by adding distance or simplifying the move to ensure we capture high-quality footage that still supports the story.
